Before the Installation

Before installing the Module, you need to make sure that:

  • You have downloaded Banckle Chat Module for Prestashop.
  • You have a Banckle account.
  • You have an account with Administrator privileges for Prestashop 1.4.x.
  • Your web server supports PHP version 5.2 or later.
  • You must enable cURL extension.

Installing the Module

  1. Sign in to the admin panel of Prestashop.
    The Dashboard screen displays.
  2. From the Dashboard screen, click Modules at the top of the page.
    The Modules screen displays.
  3. From the Modules screen, click Add a module from my computer.
    The Add a new module area displays.
  4. Click browse against the Module File.
    The File Upload dialog launches.
  5. Select your Banckle Chat zip file and click Open.
    The Banckle Chat zip file is selected and shown in the Module File field.
    If the Module file is placed on 3rd party website, you can download directly from the website by providing its URL in the Module URL field.
  6. Click Upload this module.
    The Banckle Chat module is added in the Other Modules area.
  7. From the Modules area, click Other Modules.
    The newly added Banckle Chat module displays.
  8. Click Install against the Banckle Chat module.
    The Module is successfully installed.
    A confirmation message displays after successful installation.
  9. From the Banckle Chat module area, click Configure.
    The Banckle Chat Module screen displays.
  10. From the Banckle Chat Module screen, click Settings.
    The Banckle sign in screen displays.
  11. Enter your user credentials and click Login.
    The deployments screen displays.
    If you do not have a Banckle Account, you can create by clicking Sign up.
  12. From the Deployments screen, click Add New Deployment to deploy the module for Prestashop.
    The Add Deployment screen displays.
  13. On the Add Deployment screen, provide the following information:
    • Name: enter the deployment name.
    • Title: enter the title of your deployment.
    • Copyright Text: enter the copyright text for your deployment.
      For example, copyright is reserved by Banckle.
    • Department: select your desired department from the drop down menu.
    • Invite: enter the text you want your visitors to view as soon as you invite them for chat.
    • Online: enter the text you want your visitors to view as soon as they become available for chat.
    • Offline: enter the text you want your visitors to view if operator is unavailable.
    • Waiting: enter the text for your visitors who are waiting for having a chat.
    • Exit: enter the text for your visitors to view when you close conversation with them.
    • Appearance: select your module position on the website from the drop down menu.
  14. Click Add Deployment.
    The new deployment is successfully created and listed on the Deployments screen.
    A confirmation message displays on the screen for new deployment.
  15. From the Deployment area, select your desired deployment from the drop down menu and click Activate.
    The Banckle Chat module is successfully deployed and activated into Prestashop.
    Only one deployment can be activated at a time.
    You can change your Banckle Chat module position by clicking Customize from the Deployment area. Select your module position from the Appearance drop down menu and click Update Deployment.

After the Successful Installation

You have successfully installed Banckle Chat module for Prestashop 1.4.x at your Prestashop website.

Sign in to the Banckle Apps and then go to the [Banckle Chat] to start chatting with your visitors through Banckle Chat's Module.

Uninstalling the Module

  1. Sign in to the admin panel of Prestashop.
    The Dashboard screen displays.
  2. From the Dashboard screen, click Modules at the top of the page.
    The Modules screen displays.
  3. From the Modules area, click Other Modules.
    The Banckle Chat module displays.
  4. Click Uninstall against the Banckle Chat module.
    The module is successfully uninstalled.
    A message displays in the Other Modules area that the module is successfully uninstalled.
