Before the Integration

Before you start, you need to make sure that:

  • You have downloaded the Banckle Chat Plugin for Moodle.
  • You do have a Banckle account.
  • You do have an account at Moodle 2.0 or higher, with Admin privileges and now want to install the Banckle Chat Plugin on it.
  • Your Moodle website is hosted over the Internet. Banckle Chat is not recommended if you have your website on localhost, i.e. your local web server on your own machine/PC.
  • You have FTP access of your Moodle website.


Integrate the Plugin

  1. Upload the unzipped folder of Banckle Chat Plugin for Moodle at <moodle dir>\blocks directory.
    The new path should look like \moodle\blocks\banckle_live_chat.
  2. Log into your Moodle website.
  3. On the left menu, click Site Administration and then Notifications.
    The Notifications screen is displayed.
    You can notice that the Status column of the Blocks table is displays Non-standard (about to be installed).
  4. Go to bottom of the page and click Upgrade.
    The Upgrading to new version screen is displayed with a success message.
  5. Click Continue.
    The New Settings - Banckle Chat screen is displayed.
  6. Copy the Banckle Chat Widget code in the Copy the BLC Widget Code here field and click Save Changes.
    The Banckle Chat Plugin for Moodle is successfully integrated with your Moodle website.
    For more information about how to copy the Banckle Chat Widget Code please go through Getting the Deployment Widget HTML Code documentation topic. Ensure that you copy the entire Widget code for Banckle Chat to function properly.
  7. On the top toolbar, click Block editing on.
    The Moodle controls go into edit mode.
  8. From the Add a block section on the left bottom, select Banckle Chat from the drop-down list.
    The Banckle Chat block is added and becomes visible on your Moodle website.


After the Successful Integration

This section is for you if:

  • You have successfully installed and activated Banckle Chat Plugin for Moodle at your Moodle website.
  1. Sign into Banckle Apps and then go to the Banckle Chat to start chatting with your visitors through Banckle Chat Plugin.
