Integration with Drupal

Before the Integration

Before you start, you need to make sure that:

  • You do have an account at Drupal 7.0 or higher, with Admin privileges and now want to install the Banckle Chat Module on it.
    For integration on Drupal 6.0, click Integration with Drupal6
  • Your web server supports PHP 5 with CURL.
  • Your Drupal website is hosted over the Internet. Banckle Chat is not recommended if you have your website on localhost, i.e. your local web server on your own machine/PC.

Install the Module

  1. Log into your Drupal website.
  2. On the top menu-bar, click Modules.
    The Modules dialog is launched.
  3. Click Install new module.
    To be able to install the module through the web UI please make sure that the Update Manager is enabled.
  4. Go to http://drupal.org/project/banckle_live_chat and copy the link to tar.gz or zip file.
  5. Paste the link in Install from a URL field and click Install.
    The Banckle Chat Module for Drupal is successfully installed.
    If your server cannot communicate to drupal.org or does not support to extract zip or tar.gz files, then you need to upload the files via FTP. To upload via FTP, extract the zip or tar.gz files on your local computer and upload the folder banckle_live_chat to sites/all/modules folder in your drupal installation.

Enable the Module

This section is for you if:

  • You do have a Drupal account with Admin privileges and now want to install the Banckle Chat Module on it.
  1. Log into your Drupal website.
  2. On the top menu-bar, click Modules.
    The Modules dialog is launched.
  3. In the Banckle area, towards the bottom, select the Enabled check-box against Banckle Chat and click Save configuration.
    The Banckle Chat Module for Drupal is successfully enabled.
    You may also click Configure to launch the Configuration dialog.

Activation

This section is for you if:

  • You do have a Drupal account with Admin privileges and now want to install the Banckle Chat Module on it.
  • You do have a Banckle account.
  • You have already defined the department and deployment.
  • You have already enabled the Banckle Chat Module for Drupal.
  1. Log into your Drupal website.
  2. On the top menu-bar, click Configuration.
    The Configuration dialog is launched.
    If you see a message on the top of the dialog saying "One or more problems were detected with your Drupal installation. Check the status report for more information.", it indicates that Banckle Chat Module for Drupal is not yet activated on your Drupal website.
  3. From the System area, click Banckle Chat.
    The Banckle Chat for Drupal - Configuration dialog is launched.
  4. Click Setup.
    The Banckle Chat for Drupal - Setup dialog is launched.
  5. Select the only check-box and click Next.
    The Banckle Chat for Drupal - Account Information dialog is launched.
  6. Provide the following information:
    • Banckle Login ID: enter your Banckle account ID.
    • Password: the password for the corresponding Banckle account ID.
  7. Click Next.
    The Banckle Chat for Drupal - Select Deployment dialog is launched.
  8. From the Select deployment field, select the name of the Banckle Chat deployment widget that you want to use on your Drupal website
  9. Click Finish.
    The Banckle Chat has been successfully activated on your Drupal website.

After the Successful Integration

This section is for you if:

  • You have successfully installed and activated Banckle Chat Module for Drupal at your Drupal website.
  1. Sign into Banckle Apps and then go to the Banckle Chat to start chatting with your visitors through Banckle Chat plugin.

Customize

This section is for you if:

  • You have successfully installed and activated Banckle Chat Module for Drupal at your Drupal website.
  • You want to customize the basic information and greeting messages of Banckle Chat Module for Drupal.
  1. Log into your Drupal website.
  2. On the top menu-bar, click Configuration.
    The Configuration dialog is launched.
    If you see a message on the top of the dialog saying "One or more problems were detected with your Drupal installation. Check the status report for more information.", it indicates that Banckle Chat Module for Drupal is not yet activated on your Drupal website.
  3. From the System area, click Banckle Chat.
    The Banckle Chat for Drupal - Configuration dialog is launched.
  4. In the Basic Information area, provide the following information:
    • Name: enter the name of the deployment widget.
    • Title: enter the title to be shown on the deployment widget button.
    • Copyright: enter the copyright text.
    • Departments: select the required department for which you want to configure the deployment widget.
  5. In the Greeting Messages area, provide the following information:
    • Online: enter the chat message that is presented to the visitor as welcome message.
    • Offline: enter the chat message that is presented to the visitor in case the operator is not available.
    • Waiting: enter the chat message that is presented to the visitor while waiting.
    • Exit: enter the chat message that is presented to the visitor at the end of the chat session.
    • Invite: enter the chat message that is presented to the visitor in order to invite.
  6. In the Visitor Invitation area, provide the following information:
    • Enable auto invitation: select to activate the automatically sending of chat invitation message.
    • Automatically invite visitors staying on site for more than: select the time after which an automatic chat invitation is sent to the website visitors.
    • Proactively invite visitors: select to allow your operators to automatically invite visitors.
    • Enable page specific invitations (Automatic & Proactive): select to be able to choose specific pages on which the chat can be enabled or disabled.
  7. Click Save configuration.
    The customization settings are successfully saved.

Visibility

This section is for you if:

  • You have successfully installed and activated Banckle Chat Module for Drupal at your Drupal website.
  • You want to customize the visibility of Banckle Chat Module for Drupal on your Drupal website.
  1. Log into your Drupal website.
  2. On the top menu-bar, click Configuration.
    The Configuration dialog is launched.
    If you see a message on the top of the dialog saying "One or more problems were detected with your Drupal installation. Check the status report for more information.", it indicates that Banckle Chat Module for Drupal is not yet activated on your Drupal website.
  3. From the System area, click Banckle Chat.
    The Banckle Chat for Drupal - Visibility dialog is launched.
  4. From the Position field, select the position of the page on which you want the Banckle Chat button to be displayed.
  5. Select Allow user to hide Banckle Chat button for them to allow the users to be able to hide the Banckle Chat button from their Drupal website.
  6. From the Exclude Page area, select the page(s) on which you do not want the Banckle Chat button to be displayed.
  7. Click Save configuration.
    The visibility settings are successfully saved.

Un-installation

This section is for you if:

  • You want to uninstall Banckle Chat Module for Drupal.
  1. Log into your Drupal website.
  2. On the top menu-bar, click Modules.
    The Modules dialog is launched.
  3. In the Banckle area, towards the bottom, un-select the Enabled check-box against Banckle Chat and click Save configuration.
    The Banckle Chat Module for Drupal is successfully disabled.
  4. On the Modules dialog, click Unistall and select .
    The recently disabled Banckle Chat Module for Drupal is displayed.
  5. Select the Uninstall check-box against Banckle Chat and click Uninstall.
    The confirmation message is displyed.
  6. Click Uninstall.
    The Banckle Chat Module for Drupal is successfully uninstalled.
