Before the Installation

Before installing the Add-on, you need to make sure that:

  • You have downloaded the Banckle Chat Add-on for Concrete5.
  • You must have a Banckle account.
  • You have an account with Administrator privileges at Concrete5 5.5.x for your concrete5 website .
  • You do have PHP Version 5.2.x.
  • You must enable cURL extension.

Installing the Add-on

  1. Unzip the banckle_chat folder to the concrete5/packages directory on your web server.
  2. Sign into admin panel of Concrete5 and click Dashboard.
    The Dashboard screen displays.
  3. From the Dashboard screen, click Extend Concrete5 at the bottom of the page.
    The Add Functionality screen displays.
  4. From the Awaiting Installation area, click Install against the Banckle Chat.
    A message displays after the successful installation.
  5. Click Dashboard from the top menu and then click newly added Banckle Chat link.
    The Sign in to Banckle screen displays.
  6. Enter your user credentials and click Login.
    The deployments screen displays.
    If you do not have a Banckle Account, you can create by clicking Sign up.
  7. From the Deployments screen, click Create New Deployment to deploy an Add-on for Concrete5.
    The Add Deployment screen displays.
    You can also edit your desired deployment by clicking Edit from the Action column.
  8. On the Add Deployment screen, provide the following information:
    • Deployment: enter the deployment name.
    • Title: enter the title of your deployment.
    • Copyright Text: enter the copyright text for your deployment.
      For example, copyright is reserved by Banckle.
    • Department: select your desired department from the drop down menu.
    • Invite: enter the text you want your visitors to view as soon as you invite them for chat.
    • Online: enter the text you want your visitors to view as soon as they become available for chat.
    • Offline: enter the text you want your visitors to view if operator is unavailable.
    • Waiting: enter the text for your visitors who are waiting for having a chat.
    • Exit: enter the text for your visitors to view when you close conversation with them.
    • Appearance: select your Add-on position on the website from the drop down menu.
      If you provide information for the first two fields only and leave the rest as empty, they will take default values after you create deployment.
  9. Click Add Deployment.
    The new deployment is successfully created and listed on the Deployments screen.
    A confirmation message appears on the screen for new deployment.
  10. From the Action column, click Activate against your desired deployment.
    The Deployment is successfully activated.
    Only one deployment can be activated at a time.
  11. From the top menu, click Return to Website.
    The Concrete5 home screen displays.
  12. From the top menu, click Edit.
    The Concrete5 home screen displays in edit mode.
  13. From the home screen, click header and choose Add block from the drop down menu.
    The Add Block dialog launches.
  14. From the Add Block dialog, click Banckle Chat.
    The block is added on all pages of the website.
  15. From the top menu, hover your mouse over Editing and click Publish My Edits.
    The Banckle Chat's Add-on is successfully integrated into Concrete5.

After the Successful Installation

You have successfully installed Banckle Chat Add-on for Concrete5 at your Concrete5 website.

Sign into Banckle Apps and then go to the [Banckle Chat] to start chatting with your visitors through Banckle Chat's Add-on.

Uninstalling the Add-on

  1. Sign into admin panel of Concrete5 and click Dashboard.
    The Dashboard screen displays.
  2. From the Dashboard screen, click Extend Concrete5 at the bottom of the page.
    The Add Functionality screen displays.
  3. From the Add Functionality screen, click Edit against the Banckle Chat.
    The Inspect Package screen displays.
  4. From the Inspect Package screen, click Uninstall Package.
    The Uninstall Package screen displays.
  5. From the Uninstall Package screen, Click Uninstall.
    A confirmation message appears on the screen.
    Select Yes, remove the package's directory from the installation directory check-box to remove complete package of Banckle Chat from web server.
  6. Click Ok.
    A message displays that the package is successfully uninstalled.
    You can re-install the Banckle Chat package from Awaiting Installation area in the Add Functionality screen by clicking Install against Banckle Chat.
