How to add additional Live Chat Visitor Information fields

Access Banckle Chat application and follow below mentioned steps to manage additional fields for visitor’s information:

  1. Click Settings option from the left navigation panel. This shows Settings page.
  2. Click Visitor Fields available under Customization section. This shows Visitor Fields page.
  3. Make changes for required fields of visitor information under Visitor Fields section.
  4. Click Save button. The changes made are saved successfully.
  5. If you do not want to save changes then click Cancel button.
  6. Add new custom field for visitor information as follow:
    1. Enter field name in Field Name input field.
    2. Select field type from drop down list.
    3. Enter description in Description input field.
    4. Select or leave unselect the checkbox of Editable, Show in a visitor details and Show in a visitor Monitoring summary fields.
  7. Click ADD CUSTOM FIELD button. This adds new custom field successfully.

To show or hide Custom Visitor Field:
A custom visitor field can be added to following:

  1. Visitor Details
    1. To add a custom visitor field in Visitor Details, select this (Visitor Details) checkbox of that custom field.
    2. To hide a custom visitor field from Visitor Details, unselect this (Visitor Details) checkbox of that custom field.
  2. Visitor Monitoring Summary
    1. To add a custom visitor field in Visitor Monitoring Summary, select this (Visitor Monitoring Summary) checkbox of that custom field.
    2. To hide a custom visitor field from Visitor Monitoring Summary, unselect this (Visitor Monitoring Summary) checkbox of that custom field.
  3. Widget - Prechat Form
    1. To add a custom visitor field in Visitor Prechat Form, select this (Widget - Prechat Form) checkbox of that custom field.
    2. To hide a custom visitor field from Visitor Prechat Form, unselect this (Widget - Prechat Form) checkbox of that custom field.
  4. Widget - Offline Message
    1. To add a custom visitor field in Offline Message, select this (Widget - Offline Message) checkbox of that custom field.
    2. To hide a custom visitor field from Offline Message, unselect this (Widget - Offline Message) checkbox of that custom field.

To delete a Custom Visitor Field:
A custom visitor field can be deleted as follow:

  1. Click Remove this field (Red Cross) button associated with a custom visitor field to delete it.
  2. Popup alert message Are you sure to delete this field? shown with OK and Cancel button.
  3. Click OK button to delete this field.
  4. If you do not want to delete this field then click Cancel button.
Select Allow administrator to see all fields checkbox to allow the admin to view information but information will not be visible to non-admins.
